McLaren Artura, which Auto Trendy had previously written about, has been finally revealed to the world. It is a new, hybrid supercar to be added to the British manufacturer’s lineup. It represents a huge evolution for the entire automotive world. The world is going electric and even the supercars follow the trend.
As promised, we will share the end results of the Artura’s development process with you today. The McLaren Carbon Fiber Lightweight Architecture (MCLA) is completely new at its base. The total car weight is 1498 kilograms.
The High-Performance Hybrid powertrain consists of an all-new twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine and a 94HP/250Nm electric motor. The total power output of the system is 670HP, which leaves 576HP for the V6 on its own. The Torque graph tops up at 720 Newton-meters which results in 0 to 100[km/h] acceleration in just 3.1 seconds.
Last but not the least, the estimated fuel consumption combined is 5.6l/100km and the estimated CO2 emissions combined add up to only 129g/km. These two figures still need to be updated after final testing has been done by McLaren Automotive.
To sum up:
Auto Trendy’s take:
The CEO of McLaren, Mike Flewitt, declared in regard to the Artura: "The next-generation hybrid supercar. A distillation of everything we've ever learned." We, at Auto Trendy, think that it is amazing to produce cars which incorporate all the company’s expertise into one. For owning such a car, would mean knowing McLaren deeply and knowing everything it is capable of achieving.
