The 2022 Mercedes-AMG SL, the latest version of the legendary SL model, returns to its sporty roots, charged with powerful AMG energy. The luxury roadster, which will again be available with 2 + 2 seats, is suitable for everyday driving, and for the first time in its 70-year history it is all-wheel drive.

At its market premiere, the new SL will be available in two variants of the 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine AMG: SL55 and SL63, where both versions feature a 4-wheel drive. The engines are assembled entirely by hand in Germany, following the principle of “One man, one engine”, and they achieve the following performance:

Car, Auto, Autos, Automobile, Vehicle, Automotive news, Car news, Automatic cars, Car auto, Automotive Industry, Automobile Industry, Auto auto, Auto market, innovation(s), trend(s), AutoTrendy, AutomotiveTrendy, AutoTrendi, AutomotiveTrendi

It is also important to note that the body of the Mercedes-Benz AMG SL is completely new. The chassis was created as in the first SL in 1952 – literally on a blank sheet of paper, and no component comes from the predecessor SL or another model such as the AMG GT Roadster. And for fans of saturated summer sensations, the electro-hydraulic textile roof of the convertible opens or closes completely automatically in about 15 seconds at up to 60 km/h.

Auto Trendy’s take:

Here we are, having another article about a new-model petrol powered vehicle in 2022. We, at Auto Trendy, will not criticize any part of that, rather, we will enjoy it before regulations bring it to a complete end. We are sure to guess that DAIMLER might also be embracing the moment of a market demand for internal combustion engine cars driven by the customers’ sense of urgency growing bigger as we near the end of the fossil fuels era. However, there is definitely some more profit to be made which could be embraced by investing in the future!
