Slovak company AeroMobil is bringing the original vision of the flying car to life. Most flying cars we hear about are eVTOLs (Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing vehicles). The AeroMobil vehicle has the ability to drive like a normal car and has a supercar-like aesthetic. Once the flight mode is initiated, wings slowly come out of the car and what once looked like a supercar, now looks like a small airplane.

AeroMobil was founded in 2013 and had the first test flight in 2014. Since then, over 10,000 hours of both simulated and live flight tests have been undertaken. With these tests, the company has stated its plans of releasing the vehicle into the market by early 2023. The specs are shown below:

Auto Trendy’s take:

This car is every pilot’s dream. One moment it’s a normal car, and the next it’s in the air. As it is not an eVTOL, a runway is necessary. This indicates that drivers would likely not be able to take off in the middle of the road, and it also seems as though the driver would need a pilot’s license. Either way, it is a cool vehicle that any pilot would surely be interested in owning.
