Amazon is going all-in with its sustainability programs. Being an e-commerce and delivery company, its supply chain is huge. Turning this gigantic supply chain green will have a drastic effect on global emissions. Amazon understands this and is making moves to decrease the emissions of its supply chain.

As such, Amazon has started rolling out the electric vehicles of its new partner, Rivian. Rivian is a relatively new automotive manufacturer that was founded in 2009 in California. For Amazon, custom vehicles have been developed that improve the driving experience with:

● Sensor detection

● 360 degree visibility

● Strengthened doors for driver protection

● Integrated routing software

100,000 Rivian vehicles are scheduled to be deployed by Amazon by 2030.

Auto Trendy’s take:

Rivian is an innovative EV manufacturer that has been inching its way into the distribution industry for a few years now. With announcements such as the partnership with Amazon. Now, the vehicles are finally hitting the roads. For Amazon, this is a big step as well as using emission-less vans will help make its supply chain far greener.
