Online retailer AO is known for selling appliances. Of course, any retailer needs a strong logistics base – especially when the store in solely online. AO uses the help of Fraikin to get its goods from its warehouses in Crewe, UK to Northern London, UK.

Multiple Iveco S-WAY NP 4x3 tractor units will be joining AO’s fleet of trucks with the goal of decreasing emissions on the Crewe-Northern London route. These trucks run on CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) and will be the first in the online retailer’s fleet to do so. CNG Fuels is in charge of this project’s fueling infrastructure and is confident in the 100% renewable biomethane that will be provided to AO.

Auto Trendy’s take:

With the debate over batteries vs hydrogen, people often forget CNG. A solution that drastically decreases emissions while still enabling fleet owners to utilize combustion engines. With the speed at which the industry is growing, it is wise of AO and Fraikin to try out any possible emission-friendly solutions.
