We have recently presented to you the first ever Dakar vehicle of Audi’s Sport division – the Audi RS Q e-tron E2. At the time of writing, Audi is doing its dress rehearsal for the Dakar at the Morocco Rally from October 1 to 6. All three Audi Sport crews – Mattias Ekström + Emil Bergkvist, Stephane Peterhansel + Edouard Boulanger and Carlos Sainz + Lucas Cruz – will be at the start.
"Together with Q Motorsport, we at Audi Sport are returning to racing mode after the car's important development phase," says Head of Audi Motorsport Rolf Michl. "All the team members know very well that no test can replace the real competition. Morocco is our dress rehearsal for the new car and the Dakar in general.” In the first week of October, the participants of the race will cover 1,583 kilometers within the six special stages of the Morocco Rally, which starts and finishes in Agadir. The total distance with the transitions in the race is as much as 2319 kilometers.
Auto Trendy’s take:
It’s always exciting to observe the performance of a rookie in any sport and Audi going into Dakar makes no difference. Nevertheless, there are no significant events to report on regarding the on-going dress rehearsal in Morocco. We, at Auto Trendy, will keep on closely following the developments and will hurry to inform you on this hot topic.
