The BMW XM SUV concept will be shown to the public during an event in Los Angeles on November 16 and 17, but information about it will remain under embargo until Monday, November 29. The XM is expected to be BMW's most powerful production car up to date and will use a V8 twin-turbo engine running in conjunction with an electric motor. Rumor has it that the power will go over 700 horsepower.

This powertrain can be considered response from BMW to the hybrid system of the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 E Performance with its 831 hp and 1,400 Nm of torque. It is also possible that the next-generation M5 will use this particular hybrid system as well.

A number of heavily disguised XM prototypes have been photographed during tests in recent months. The images you see above are the work of designer Magnus Concepts and are based on these spy photos.

Auto Trendy’s take:

The new BMW SUV XM looks simplistic and futuristic in its look especially when one focuses his eye on the front lights, and the mark’s typical grilles, as well as the taillights and the clean fifth door. Bearing in mind that the pictures come from a computer design, we, at Auto Trendy, are only more excited to see the first real-life pictures come out soon. Finally, we are also extremely curious to learn more about the performance specifications of the driveline, such as torque, 0 – 100 km/h time, and top speed, and share them with you. Stay tuned!
