The mighty BMW X7 is like a fortress on wheels. The top stock version of the model is called M50i – it generates 530 hp. and achieves a maximum torque of 750 Nm. Not enough for you? Then contact the tuning company MANHART Performance, which presented its MHX7 project.
MANHART retains the 4.4-liter V8 with two turbochargers but reprograms its software and puts in some new hardware to increase performance to 650 hp. and 920 Nm of torque. The tuner achieves improvements with an additional engine control module “MHtronik,” which has been developed in-house. Moreover, new sports exhaust systems with valves and four carbon fiber exhaust tips are developed by MANHART as well.
Carbon is also used for the side mirror housings, the new front spoiler with Winglets and the new rear diffuser. Customers can also get gold stickers to keep the SUV from looking so bleak. The combination of black and gold is also imposed on the 23-inch wheels. In addition, the people of MANHART have installed about 25-millimeter lower suspension.
Auto Trendy’s take:
Performance tuning companies such as MANSORY and MANHART keep improving high-volume engines that run on conventional fuels. As much as this is not in-line with the current electrification trends, we, at Auto Trendy, believe that people do it out of their passion for petrol. “Is this showing us that noisy internal combustion cars are found more exciting by enthusiasts?” and “How much will such initiatives disturb the current environmentally oriented trends?” are questions which only time can and will answer.
