BMW does not yet offer M models for its X7 SUVs. Tuning specialists from Dähler, however, have managed to increase the power of an X7 M50i up to 646 horsepower. That is more than the most powerful M5!
The dimensions make the BMW X7 a car castle: 5.16 meters long, 2 meters wide and 1.8 meters high. Weighing in at 2.4 tons, the seven-seater luxury SUV is also appropriately heavy. That is why BMW may not yet offer a real M-model for its largest SUV.
The stock M50i's 4.4-liter biturbo V8 engine has 530 hp and 750 Nm of maximum torque.
Dähler snatches 630 hp and 830 Nm of maximum torque. Another set will be available soon – with 646 hp and 850 Nm. So, the SUV will have 11 hp more than the BMW M5 CS, which tops up at 635 hp (https://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/bmw/m5-cs-4dr-dct/first-drive ). The tuning also includes an increase in the maximum speed, affecting only cars with a year of production from July 2020. The exhaust system with valves and four end pipes takes care of the sound. Dähler is also offering power increases for other X7 engines,
Auto Trendy’s take:
We, at Auto Trendy, are happy with the tuning of Dähler on this particular BMW SUV as we see the enthusiastic as well as the practical aspect in it. From an enthusiastic point of view, it is great for married car enthusiasts to have such a powerful family car. The practical point of view, in our opinion, comes into play when you plan on going on vacation with your X7 M50i from Dahler. One is that you can go to the sea or mountain with 2 families together, and another is that you can pull your camper without having to pray for some speed on the uphills.
