BP (British Petroleum) has a completely different outlook on energy than it did just a few years ago. In 2010, BP was responsible for the largest-ever oil spill. Since then, the company has been heavily investing in the reduction of carbon emissions.
The British company is making substantial investments in green energy production through means such as wind turbines and hydrogen. Furthermore, the production of oil is being ramped down and the gas stations are being traded out for EV charging points. BP plans to be a completely different kind of energy company by 2030 and to be net zero by 2050.
Auto Trendy’s take:
BP is making a great effort to lower emissions and help the environment. Moreover, focusing on EV charging points means getting ready for the future – in which the majority of passenger cars will be battery-electric. Investing in green energy production will also help BP control the supply chain of its energy and put the company in a greater advantage in terms of control and ultimately costs.
