Coca-Cola is seriously investing in reducing its carbon footprint. The company known for its sweet drink is investing in ways to lower the emissions of its supply chain. Some of these investments include electric trucks.

In Belgium, Coca-Cola has purchased 30 Renault EV trucks to be used for its last-mile deliveries. This number alone will help reduce its last-mile emissions by 75%. With continuous EV truck purchases, Coca-Cola hopes to reduce its value chain emissions by 30% by 2040. The first five electric trucks of the new fleet are already in service in Antwerp.

Auto Trendy’s take:

Coca-Cola is looking at its supply chain as a whole and decarbonizing it. Other than looking at its logistical processes, the company is also investing in sustainability efforts regarding its agriculture and manufacturing. These investments may come at a high price now (compared to their non-green counterparts) but will definitely pay off in the long-run and help keep our world greener.
