Air Products, an American company that specializes in chemical energy has had several noteworthy automotive achievements. These include solutions for passenger cars and heavy duty transport. More recently, Air Products has made headlines due to the new partnership agreement with Cummins. This agreement will see that the two companies collaborate to integrate hydrogen fuel cell trucks worldwide.

Cummins designs, manufactures, and distributes engines and engine products. A pivot to renewable energy powertrains is likely due to emission-related market trends. The two companies plan to begin the integration in 2022 and hope to use hydrogen to reduce the carbon footprint of heavy-duty trucks around the world.

Auto Trendy’s take:

Cummins has partnered with multiple major truck manufacturers before to provide them with powertrain-related solutions. For a company that is so influential in the world of heavy-duty trucks, such a shift in technology should be a great foreshadow into the future of the industry. Air Products is by no means new to the emission-free game and will likely be a great partner for Cummins for the upcoming hydrogen-related developments.
