The new eco-friendly tire MICHELIN e.PRIMACY is on the market starting from the 1st of March, 2021. Developed on the basis of a life-cycle assessment, the MICHELIN e.PRIMACY provides excellent qualities for consumers while reducing the impact on the environment. The tire is rated A for energy efficiency and B for wet grip. Furthermore, less than 1% of tires on the market provide the winning combination of ratings that the e.PRIMACY do of A for rolling resistance and A or B for traction—making the e.PRIMACY one of the best tires on the market.
The low rolling resistance offers many advantages for consumers. The tire can reduce fuel consumption by up to 0.21 liters per 100 kilometers, depending on the type of car the tire is attached to. This represents savings of € 80-100 throughout the life cycle of the tire. For the planet, the reduction in CO2 emissions can be estimated at 174 kg for the entire life cycle of the tire. For electric cars, the MICHELIN e.PRIMACY tires can increase mileage by up to 7%.
The MICHELIN e.PRIMACY tire offers optimal performance from the first to the last kilometer. The life of the gripper is extended thanks to MaxTouch Construction technology, which maximizes contact with the road to distribute the pressure more evenly during braking and acceleration. Even after 30,000 kilometers, MICHELIN e.PRIMACY still passes the European test for wet certification. Available in 56 versions, from 15 to 20 inches and for all types of cars, including hybrid and electric, MICHELIN e.PRIMACY leads a new generation of environmentally friendly MICHELIN tires.
Auto Trendy’s take:
A tire is the marriage between a car and the road, and thus its quality is of the utmost importance. It makes major contributions to the safety of a vehicle and to its fuel consumption. Therefore, in a world oriented towards reducing the environmental impact on Earth and decreasing the road accidents, it is necessary to invest in the development of automotive tires. We, at Auto Trendy, give our respect to MICHELIN for bringing this tire to the world, and we believe that other automotive tire manufacturers will soon follow on this track.
