Dutch electric bus manufacturer Ebusco has released a new upgraded version of its electric bus and it is now ready for the road. The new bus, the Ebusco 3.0, comes with an astonishing 33% weight reduction compared to its predecessors due to a composite body structure as opposed to a metal one. Additionally, it can drive up to 575 km on a single charge and hold up to 95 passengers.
Ebusco’s buses have been used in Munich before as an effort by Stadtwerke Munich (the local public transport company) to lower emissions. Stadtwerke Munich can now proudly say that there are two Ebusco 3.0s driving on Munich streets. Ebusco already has another order ready for 2022 in which it will deliver 39 of the 3.0s to Transdev Netherlands.
Auto Trendy’s take:
It’s great for Ebusco to continue working with major European clients on the goal of lowering public transport emissions. The company has also ensured the new bus’s competitiveness in the market due to the composite body. Not only does a lighter body make for a more efficient vehicle, but it also reduces the total cost of its ownership. According to Ebusco such a structure lowers maintenance costs. The Dutch company seems to be setting its mark within the electric bus market.
