Einride is an up-and-coming truck OEM that Auto Trendy has written about multiple times. Although still small, the Swedish company has unique solutions to offer the industry in terms of electrification and autonomous technology. This has already been recognized by Daimler Truck and is displayed by the collaboration that the both are working on.

Daimler Truck was not the only party impressed with Einride – so too were the financiers of its latest $500 million funding. $300 million will be in the form of debt to Barclays Europe. The rest is split up between multiple investors in the form of equity. These include but are not limited to EQT Ventures, Polar Structure, and AMF (Swedish Pension Fund).

Auto Trendy’s take:

Einride has real supporters behind it. Between Daimler Truck, Barclays, and a pension fund – the company seems to have some real great technology behind its name. There is now more visibility than ever for it to perform in a market that is extremely difficult to penetrate. It will be interesting to see the future developments.
