In 2016 in the city of Stockholm, Sweden, a new player of the truck industry was born. Einride was founded with three main futuristic concepts in mind: digitalization, decarbonization, and automation. That’s exactly what the company has shown us with the Einride Pod and Einride Saga.

The Einride Pod is a cabin-less electric truck. Without a cabin, there is no space for a physical driver, which just proves the point that the truck is autonomous. With it, Einride offers the Saga, a digital fleet management platform.

Currently the truck is not completely autonomous as remote drivers still have some control over the driving as could be needed in certain situations. Furthermore, although the company is quite new, it has already made sure to offer its truck as a flatbed as well. With the flatbed, the Einride Pod could perfectly fit shipping containers as well as be used for other special applications.

Auto Trendy’s take:

Einride’s efforts are definitely in line with the future of the market. The main question is whether the market is ready for the technology right now or is Einride too early?

Other than that though, Einride could possibly be more appealing to drivers as they would be able to have similar 9-5 environments to office workers.
