Electrify America was founded in 2017 and has since developed the most extensive EV charging network in the United States. Rather than simply placing chargers on the grid, the American startup is moving into renewable energy production. By 2023, the company’s power generation project – also known as “Solar Glow™ 1 Project” – will be completely operational.

Solar Glow™ 1 Project focuses on producing 100% zero-emission energy from solar power. This will be done through placing a solar farm in San Bernadino, California. The plant will produce up to 75 Megawatts and will run for about 15 years.

Auto Trendy’s take:

A big issue that we may soon face is the electric grid simply not having enough power to charge our electric vehicles. Electrify America is not only bringing forward a solution – but the company is ensuring that the solution is green too. Furthermore, having control over the production of the energy will likely give Electrify America some more flexibility with innovating business models for this sector.
