General Motors and Honda are partnering for an electric vehicle joint venture. The two giants will be collaborating on creating affordable EVs and will start sales in 2027. With the developments of both companies, these vehicles should be getting even more affordable than the $30,000 ones that GM sets to launch in the coming years.

Honda is specifically interested in GM’s battery technology. The batteries are modular and their shape is non-cylindrical, which allows for more flexibility.

Auto Trendy’s take:

On the one hand, it’s surprising to hear that these two companies are partnering up. On the other hand, it is only logical for EV prices to be decreasing. The vehicles are gaining more demand at a rapid rate and economies of scale will decrease the product prices.
