Lamborghini will electrify its range of models starting from 2025. In the medium term, the V12 engine will remain – but as a plug-in hybrid. There will also be a new electric car.
The electric car will appear in 2025.
The first charging model will appear in 2023. If we look at the company’s portfolio, it will probably be the well-selling Urus SUV. A year later, the small fine range of the brand is expected to be electrified, as from 2025 the goal is to reduce harmful emissions by 50 percent. In addition to the plug-in versions of the current Aventador, Urus and Huracan models, from 2025 there will be a new car – with all-electric drive. According to Stephan Winkelmann, president of Bugatti Automobiles, the shape of the body has not yet been determined - a version of a 2 + 2-seater car is possible, following the example of the former Lamborghini Espada. This time with electric traction and at least 1000 hp.
The brand is a symbol of excellence in terms of power and dynamics, so expectations for the first all-electric model will be more than high. The central modules of the electric drive are from Audi. The 800-volt charging equipment is also guaranteed by Porsche.
The biggest investment in the history of the brand
Since the good idea should be sold in color, Lamborghini has come up with an interesting name for their new electrical project: Direzione Cor Tauri. Cor Tauri is the brightest star in the constellation Taurus and is a symbol of Lamborghini's electrification strategy. To make the star shine so brightly, Lamborghini will invest 1.5 billion euros over the next four years – the largest investment in the brand's history.
