NEVS’ self-driving taxibus

Swedish company NEVS acquired Saab assets in 2012. For those who don’t know, Saab was a Swedish car manufacturer that was known for achieving unique innovations. NEVS’ mission is to do the same. The company is working on its first vehicle, which will be both electric and autonomous.

With an Uber-style app, users would be able to order their NEVS “taxi” which would then transport them to their destination. The vehicle has 6 seats and is made for sharing – similar to a taxibus. Fleet managers are provided with a similar software tool that helps them manage their fleet of vehicles.

Auto Trendy’s take:

It would be interesting to see when these vehicles are released to the market. With ridesharing and self-driving trends growing at the rate that they are, a vehicle like NEVS’ is the logical outcome. It’s likely that legislation still has to be put in place for such a car to be on the road – and we can’t wait!
