The Korean automotive manufacturer is introducing three new models of its Genesis vehicle on the market in 2022.

Genesis Electrified G80: The electric car is based on the G80 sedan, is equipped with a fast-charging system with 800 volts and will have a mileage on NEFZ of up to 500 kilometers. Two electric motors provide 272 kW (370 hp) and 700 Nm of maximum torque, with the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h lasting 4.9 seconds. A special noise-canceling system makes traveling in the car much easier. Comfort is ensured by active suspension based on camera data and the navigation system.

Genesis GV60: Genesis will launch its own version of Ioniq 6 and EV9, which will be named GV60. The layout is similar to that of Kia, but of course there are typical Genesis attributes such as split headlights. Inside, a large glass panel combines a digital speedometer and a central display. So far, only the Korean market has technical data. There the car is available with rear or dual drive and with a power of 228 and 435 hp.

Genesis G90: The second generation of the Genesis flagship has extremely narrow headlights. Daytime running lights and dipped beam headlights are shaped like two light strips, one on each side. Genesis has not yet shared information about the engines. The 380 hp V6 engine from the GV80 would be perfectly appropriate, and it's likely to have a plug-in hybrid. Contrary to expectations, the car will not appear in Europe.

Auto Trendy’s take:

What we see from Genesis is that they are following the electrifying trends as more and more models start appearing as hybrids of fully electrified versions. Moreover, the style of the vehicles and their comfort features seem to have the potential to compete with the big OEMs. However, the absence of the car on the European market might be an obstacle. Finally, as we tend to say: time will show!
