People who want to go on adventurous expeditions, yet still enjoy a luxurious home space, often struggle in finding the right mobile home. DARC is a German company that is targeting this specific group of people. The DARC MONO is an off-road mobile home that is based on the latest generation of the robust Iveco Daily 4X4 van and is scheduled to be released this year.
The picture above is not misleading. The interior of the DARC MONO was designed by architects to give a modern home feel while maximizing the interior space. It also features a gas oven/stove setup and a queen-size bed.
To make up for the weight of a portable home setup, the body is built out of a carbon-fiber monocoque. The overall result is a specially designed vehicle that allows its drivers to have long-lasting off-road expeditions in style.
Auto Trendy’s take:
Unlike many key industry players, the DARC MONO is not electric, but runs on diesel. This is likely due to the fact that they target a niche audience who will need to be able to recharge (or refuel) their vehicle for weeks at a time. That is simply not yet possible with electric vehicles.
Regardless of the power source of the MONO, its interior design pictures make it seem like a luxurious motor home that is comfortable to live in. The campervan features make it a great option for off-road driving. The prices are not yet released, but this could possibly be an amazing solution for people of a certain wealth who enjoy adventurous expeditions.
