The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Black Series has been tuned up to 1111 horsepower, which is as if it has an additional AMG A45 under its hood in comparison to the stock version.
After about 6 years, Mercedes-AMG put the crown on the GT. 730 hp is the AMG GT Black Series power, snatched from a 4-liter V8 bi-turbo engine. Opus Automotive, however, does not find this power enough - that is why they offer four different power levels: the maximum is 1111 hp, and the extra power corresponds exactly to that of a Mercedes AMG A45. It sounds quite loud, but people from Opus know their job. Until now the company was called "Renntech Europe", a specialist brand on the subject of AMG-GT. The company is headquartered in the Nürburgring, the former Mercedes-AMG test center.
To release all 1111 hp, some changes had to be made. These include modified turbines, pistons, connecting rods, cylinder heads, and the fuel system. There is also a reconfiguration of the engine and transmission software.
Opus does not provide information on maximum torque. However, it has been "reduced to the bare minimum" to spare tires and drivetrain. If you live outside of Europe and drive your Black Series only on the track, Opus also offers you a new exhaust system. No particulate filter, but with sports catalysts.
Auto Trendy’s take:
We, at Auto Trendy, are happy when looking at development purely focused on the environmental impact of certain vehicles. However, we also know that there is no single opinion between drivers and within the car communities. Thys, we like to respect vehicles that are being produced, or tuned, for the petrol heads and the high-speed lovers. They are enthusiasts, they need their thing!
