“We and our dealers have successfully navigated a first half-year shaped by external factors and uncertainties,” says Detlev von Platen, Board Member for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG. “In addition to the difficulties posed by the resurgence of the COVID pandemic in China and other markets, ongoing supply-chain- and logistics-related challenges have accompanied us. At the same time, the desirability of our brand and the popularity of our products remain strong. We expect the second half-year to be dynamic. As in previous years, we are optimistic about the future and determined to go full steam ahead with the remaining months of the year.”

The delivery numbers for Jan-Jun 2022 can be seen in the table below next to the same for 2021. We observe growth in Germany and Europe of 5% and 7%, respectively. Sales in the other regions appear rather negative and contribute to a total -5% worldwide in comparison to one year back.

Auto Trendy’s take:

At current times of several economic, political and social crises developing around the world, it should come as no surprise to anyone that a 5% decrease in sales is perceived as a successful half of a year. We, at Auto Trendy, are staying tuned for Q2 reports of other automotive companies as well and we will be glad about informing you. We, ourselves, are very curious to find out who did best in a cracking world.
