With personal cars turning into autonomous taxis, more opportunities are becoming present for people to become productive. The cars of the future seem to be heading in the direction of portable living rooms or offices.

Designing for Renault’s Everybody Own Your Space program, Jun Young Kim has developed a concept for what the future of Renault’s passenger cars may look like. The design includes two interchangeable pods. One for productive office-style work, and the other for leisure. These two pods can be interchanged like Lego pieces depending on your needs for the specific driving route. Even though they are called pods, they are very reminiscent to the design of a coffee pot while having the functionality that is so needed in today’s fast-paced world.

The design is also compact and will be beneficial in solving on road congestion.

Auto Trendy’s take:

The idea of the exchangeable pod is definitely intriguing, but is it where Renault’s vision is going or just another concept? It would be great to see such a car driving on the road and would definitely be helpful in helping people efficiently allocate their time for day-to-day activities.
