Shell is once again ensuring its future within our sustainable emission-free future. In a new partnership with Intergamma, Shell will install 1400 charging points. Intergamma is the owning company of hardware store chains GAMMA and Karwei.

With people looking for increased convenience around charging their cars, the deal will make it so that they have this opportunity while doing their shopping. The fast chargers can give a sustainable boost of battery charge within just a 10 minute time frame (exact amounts vary depending on each car). Installation will take place in 2022 in 380 stores across the Netherlands and Belgium.

Auto Trendy’s take:

Although an unexpected partnership, it is a welcomed and very logical one. The interesting thing is that charging places for cars are being put in store parking lots and not just adjacent to fuel pumps at stations. Is this hinting at a possible future in which there are no fueling/charging stations, but rather chargers dispersed all around?
