Headquartered in Slovenia, Elaphe has been developing in-wheel propulsion technology for over a decade. Although not yet sold as systems within road cars, the technology has proven itself through multiple tests. To get to the next level and make the solution available, Elaphe needs to grow.
The Slovenian government has recognized this need and the potential of the company given rising electrification trends. As such, the government has invested €7 million in Elaphe. This investment is set to take development up a notch and help Elaphe build robust in-wheel propulsion systems for passenger and commercial vehicles.
Auto Trendy’s take:
This is a great accomplishment for Elaphe. With years of development of a unique solution, it is great for the company to be supported by the local government. Power sources aren’t the only things that can be innovated in cars – so can driveline systems. Elaphe’s in-wheel motors can help feed direct all-wheel power. As such, it may prove to be a worthy investment.
