Spyker just announced a partnership with investors Boris Rotenberg and Michail Pessis. The Dutch company produces amazing aviation inspired sportscars. Unfortunately, they had to declare bankruptcy in 2014, only a few years after purchasing SAAB Automobile AB. Ever since, they have been looking for investors to bring them back.

Rotenberg and Pessis are two of the lucky few who own a Spyker. As only 265 Spykers were produced since the company’s conception in 1999. They have big plans for Spyker. Starting in 2021, they will start production of the C8 Preliator, D8 Peking-to-Paris SSUV, and B6 Venator in Germany. They will also open up an international flagship store in Monaco.

The Russian investors have some things in common with Spyker. All parties have been involved in motor sports with the investors owning SMP Racing and BR Engineering and Spyker having competed even at the highest level of Formula 1. It should be mentioned that this is not their first collaboration as they all worked together previously on limited editions of the Spyker Aileron.

Auto Trendy’s take:

We really hope this is it. Spyker has been trying to make a comeback for a long time. It has been disappointing as fans to get excited and let down over the years, but it seems that this new partnership could be the saving grace for the Dutch auto maker. With big plans for production and solid sales strategies, hopefully Spyker will be resurrected and be able to keep producing their gorgeous vehicles.
