The Subaru Forester STI Sport shows that the brand has not yet completely given up on sports products. Even though the “legend of performance,” WRX STI has been buried. This new special version of the crossover mid-range is unfortunately only intended for the Japanese market. It will appear with a redesigned suspension, as well as some styling updates that make the car even more exciting.

The major mechanical update of the STI Sport-Edition of Forester will be the tuned STI-shock absorbers. The wheels are 18-inch, Dark Gray, and with all-season tires at size 225/55. Moreover, there are black accents around the fog lights, bumpers, and side sills. There are STI emblems on the grille and back cover. The car model will be available in the colours of Crystal White Pearl, Magnetite Gray Metallic, Ice Silver Metallic, and Crystal Black Silica.

The STI version of the Forester has a single engine - 1.8-liter 4-cylinder boxer engine with 177 horsepower and 300 Nm. The vehicle has a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) and a four-wheel drive.

Auto Trendy’s take:

It is exciting to see Subaru’s first vehicle after the striking out of the WRX STI range due to emission regulations. This makes the new Forester STI the transition towards the electrification era, which seems to be the way to performance at Subaru. The track-oriented STI E-RA Concept was shown at the 2022 Tokyo Motor Show and it could produce 1,088 horsepower from 2 electric motors on axles. Future sounds exciting, doesn’t it?
