Tesla handed over the first production semi-truck to soft drink maker Pepsi during a special Delivery Day in Nevada (USA). At the event, company boss Elon Musk did not reveal much about the machine's technology. However, only one indicator will take your breath away: the truck can be charged with the power of one megawatt, which is equal to 1000 kW! Tesla cars can currently be charged at the so-called Superchargers with a maximum of 250 kW. The charging technology will allow a full charging session to be completed in only a few minutes.

Tesla specifies that the semi's autonomous range is up to 800 kilometers – when fully charged and the total weight of the composition exceeds 36 tons. The price can only be speculated at the moment. It was rumored to be around $200,000.

Auto Trendy’s take:

The so-called Tesla Cyber Truck has been a huge excitement for everyone ever since the concept was introduced back in 2017. Now, with this new milestone of rolling out the first production copy, Tesla is adding another piece to the puzzle of its mission. Inevitably, however, there will be competition on the way with other truck manufacturers also introducing electric trucks. It is yet another era at the start and we are happy to be part of it by informing you.
