Opel Mokka-e becomes Opel Mokka Electric. In appearance, however, there are no changes to the generation that appeared on the market a year ago with the brand's typical "Opel Vizor" front. However, there are some novelties regarding power and mileage. Previously, the range was 319 kilometres according to WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure) for the Mokka-e - now the Opel Mokka Electric will offer the possibility of traveling up to 406 kilometres. The compact SUV thus aligns with the Cupra Born. The lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 54 kWh. will continue to be installed in the floor so that you have plenty of space inside.

More power for the electric compact SUV

Until now, the electric Opel Mokka-e was only available with one engine: 100 kW. (136 hp) and a maximum torque of 260 Nm. The maximum torque will remain unchanged with the Mokka Electric, and the power will rise to 115 kW. (156 hp). The maximum speed will continue to be 150 km/h, there is no change for the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h – under 10 seconds.

The driver will have the following driving modes: "Eco", "Normal" and "Sport". The possibility of fast charging is also preserved. With the Mokka Electric, it is part of the standard equipment, and in 30 minutes the electric car charges 80 percent of its battery. By 2024, Opel will offer an electrified version of each of its models, and from 2028 it will become an all-electric brand.

Auto Trendy’s take:

Opel has been doing a good job entering the electric vehicle market with simplified models. Now, when the manufacturer has gained more knowledge and experience about the technology, it becomes visible. It is still work in progress, however, the direction is obviously north, and we should continue seeing like that until 2028, and after.
