The Human Hybrid electric motorcycle

Written by Kfir Kedem - July 14, 2020

The electrification trend is relevant for more than just cars. eROCKIT is an electric/ pedal powered street legal motorcycle. At eROCKIT, they call their bike powertrain the Human Hybrid because the driving speed is completely controlled by the pedaling speed. There is no throttle valve present. Although the rider needs to pedal, the energy they would need to use is very low, as the aid of the electric motor helps them reach a top speed of 90 km/h.

The bike also has regenerative braking, which means that energy can be restored from braking and later used to power the motor. This system can increase the battery’s 120 km range by up to 10%.

Andy Zurwehme, eROCKIT’s CEO, says that the bike’s features make it the “most fun factor in riding two-wheelers in all the globe.”

Auto Trendy’s take:

The eROCKIT seems like a really fun bike! Being made from lightweight, high-grade aluminum and utilizing all the unique features, there is not reason for this bike to be boring. Zurwehme has made it very clear that this bike is about fun and emotion. It probably meets these criteria; however, it is probably not the best solution for A-to-B travelling.
