The new Citroën C4 X, which is the longer version of the normal C4, will contain "ë" in its name, that is, it will appear only as an electric car: Citroën ë-C4 X!

Some of Citroën's decisions can be seen as a revolution. For instance, the French brand has decided to sell the C4 X in Germany only in the ë-C4 X version. Otherwise, the model will be offered on the market in France with two gasoline and one diesel unit. A bold step, but consistent: in the regular C4, the share of the version with an electric drive is 60 percent, and the trend is rising!

The drive is familiar to us. Peugeot 208, Opel Corsa-e, and Mokka-e already use it. The power is 136 horsepower, and the battery capacity is 50 kWh which is also typical of the other similar models.

Thanks to the aerodynamics, the range is better: 360 kilometers according to the WLTP, Citroën says. The maximum speed on the highway is 150 km/h, which has been electronically limited.

Auto Trendy’s take:

We, at Auto Trendy, believe that Citroen’s bold step is a good example of gradually entering the stage of electrification. Their decision for the new ë-C4 X is also a smart one from a feedback data collection point of view. They will be able to compare the behavior of two different markets where one sells only electric vehicles and the other sells ICEs (Internal Combustion Engines) as well. This is valuable data, which can, after an in-depth analysis, help the company’s decision-making for the short- and long-term future.
