With more than 18 million units produced so far, the Polo is one of the most successful compact cars in the world. Volkswagen made its world premiere of the next evolutionary stage in the development of the Polo. The preliminary sales of the model will begin in May. The design, technology, and range of equipment of the bestseller are completely updated - the update of the front and rear of the body is obvious at first glance, and the range of standard equipment has been significantly expanded.
All versions of the model now have LED headlights and LED headlight units, digital readings on Digital Cockpit controls, a multimedia system, a multifunction steering wheel, and many other modern, high-tech features and conveniences. Other new features include the interactive IQ.LIGHT matrix system of the LED headlights and the control of the automatic air conditioning system via a touch screen.
In addition, the Polo now offers the possibility of partially automated driving in the entire speed range thanks to the optional IQ.DRIVE Travel Assist system. It is available for the first time in the Polo class and combines the functions of the new ACP (Adaptive Cruise Control) and Lane Assist (which is now available as standard in all versions of the Lane Assist). These systems come together to form an entirely new assistance system that allows for partially automated driving.
Auto Trendy’s take:
New technologies are being further and further implemented in different vehicles classes. After their extensive testing in higher class vehicles, we now see their penetration into the more compact models. We, at Auto Trendy, can only be happy about this change as that makes cars not only more attractive, but also much more safe on the road.
