China debuted an ultrafast maglev bullet train. The train uses magnetic levitation to run with less friction as opposed to the traditional wheels that trains have. Its top speed is a whopping 600 km/h (373 mph) and its purpose is to get people between major cities within little time. The unbelievable top speed makes it the fastest train in the world.
This is the second maglev bullet train that China has released, with the first having a top speed of 430 km/h (267 mph). These two are the first of many as China plans to create 3-hour travel time options between its major cities. This means that a 12-hour car journey from Beijing to Shanghai will only take 2.5 hours.
Auto Trendy’s take:
It’s amazing to think that a train can go this fast. The initiative of closing the time gap between major cities to such an extent is exciting. Hopefully other countries follow and maglev bullet trains will be more common worldwide. This would be amazing for Europe where free travel between borders is a great advantage but ends up taking up a lot of time.
