Ubitricity has a very unique EV charging solution. The Shell-owned company utilizes public street lamps as points of charging. In September of last year, this solution was awarded by the UK government in the form of financial backing.

Now, the company has hit a milestone by installing its 6,000th charge point. The goal is to hit 50,000 by 2025 and with 2 years to go – Ubitricity is growing its network towards that goal.

Auto Trendy’s take:

Step-by-step Ubitricity is doing what it needs to get up to the 50,000 charge points it has planned. It cannot be expected to happen in the blink of an eye, but 2 years is not a long time for such a feat. With the backing of the UK government and ease of installation however, Ubitricity might just reach that goal.
